I have been writing poetry since grade school, I guess I just never really stopped.
I have been a member of the Kauai Live Poet's Society since March 2020. Just in time to enjoy one live meeting before we started doing zoom because of the lockdown. We have had some live meetings and events since then. In 2023 I became a member of the Hawaii Writer's Guild.

I have been married to my wife, Heather, for over 20 years, as of this writing. I have two boys still at home. My dad moved out to Hawaii to life with me over two years ago. We do the whole dog and cat thing too. My family is the joy of my life. That fact is reflected often in my poems.
In my younger years, I was an avid hitch hiker and river dog. I grew up in the mountains of Northern California mostly. I moved to Kaua'i in 2011, which was an adventure of its own. The ocean was a whole new playground. I spend a bit of time in Alaska also nowadays, and that is amazing. I have traveled internationally a few times, and I look forward to more. I try to write poetry about all of it.
I'm later forties, currently. Can't believe I just had to update that. I'm on a never-ending quest now to get my health golden, I'm pretty heavy among other things. I am a generally happy person, even though my poetry reflects at times that I have been in some pretty dark places before. Things are looking up though. I'm optimistic.
I had a religious conversion in my early twenties, and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 2000. That means I try my best to follow in Jesus' footsteps the best I can. I try to make it my primary focus, even though I list it last here (it is a poetry website after all). Hopefully my poems about my struggles, dark times or depressing feelings that are part of my history do not detract from that. Im tying to put more of my bright hope in my work in a respectful way.

My second release, poetry I crafted mostly over a period of under three years. Much of my work here was done with the Kauai Live Poet's Society.

A collaborative effort of Kauai Poets about all things Kauai. I am one of a number of poets who wrote and edited this book.

I am working on a picture book about egrets in Kauai.
My next personal writing project is a Science Fiction Novel.
